Loose parts

Loose parts are a vital component of our preschool program. We've replaced our plastic, single-purpose toys and materials with items that spark creativity and imagination. Our rooms are filled with endless varieties of loose parts, an art studio equipped to offer process-oriented art, large block room, and a sensory kitchen that supports what children naturally want to do; dump, pour, stir, mix, measure, and transport materials.

Through exploration and play using loose parts, children are using critical thinking skills, problem-solving, planning, language development, social skills, math skills, collaboration, and sharing, just to name a few of the skills used.
