Loose Parts
A Core Element of Our Preschool Program
At Tender Moments, loose parts play a vital role in fostering creativity and imagination. We have intentionally replaced traditional plastic, single-purpose toys with open-ended materials that encourage children to explore, invent, and create freely.
Our classrooms are thoughtfully equipped with a rich variety of loose parts, including an art studio designed for process-oriented creativity, a spacious block area, and a sensory kitchen that invites children to engage in natural activities such as dumping, pouring, stirring, mixing, measuring, and transporting materials.
Through play and exploration with these versatile materials, children develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and planning skills. They also enhance language, social interaction, mathematical understanding, collaboration, and sharing—building a strong foundation across multiple areas of development.
